Evaluation Question 6

For this evaluation question I decided to use www.prezi.com and completed the question on there. Below is the link to the prezi I created:

Evaluation Question 4 & 5

For these two evaluation question I created my own website on 'Wix' in order to answer the target audience questions. Below is the source link to the website I created and a screenshot of the homepage:

Evaluation Question 3

What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?

For this question my partner Ishpreet Sundal created a collage using 'Insta Collage' of four horror films which have been distributed via 'Lionsgate'. She demonstrated how 'Lionsgate' may be interested in producing our opening sequence as it follows many similar conventions in which they have also incorporated in their own films. She also gave the example of 'House of 100 Corpses' as the narrative follows a similar one to our opening sequence as we have also incorporated someone being trapped by a villain with no means of escape.

A media institution can be defined as being an organisation, which gains profit through things such as entertainment services. There are various media instsititions which may distribute horror films, such as Lions Gate. This is a large entertainment company which distributes films of various genres, including horror.

Below is a collage of four horror films which have been distributed via Lions Gate. There is also an image of the Lions Gate ident, which is specifically used for their horror films. Lions Gate may be interested in distributing our horror product, as it contains similar aspects to their films. For an example within 'House of 1000 Corpses', the victims become trapped within a house. This is similar to the narrative of our product, as the victim gets captured by the antagonist with no means of escape.

Another institution which may distribute our horror product could be Fox Searchlight Pictures. This institution is responsible for distributing independent and British films, specifically of comedy, drama and horror. This institution may be interested in our product as it is British, as well belonging to the genre of horror. An example of a British horror film distributed via Fox Searchlight Pictures could be '28 Days Later'. This is a British horror film, as is our media product.  Below is an image of the Fox Searchlight Pictures logo, as well as the poster for '28 Days Later':

Evaluation Question 7

For this question my partner Ishpreet created a PowerPoint for this particular question & I then uploaded it onto Slideshare
Below is the PowerPoint in which she created:

Evaluation Question 1

For our evaluation me and my partner Ishpreet Sundal decided to half the questions.

For this question my partner Ishpreet Sundal used the source www.powtoon.com and uploaded screenshots of our opening sequence to where we have fitted the typical 'horror' genre conventions. It was very important that we fitted the conventions criteria as otherwise it would not have been successful.
Below is the link to the YouTube account in which Ishpreet uploaded this too.

Evaluation Question 2

''How does your media product represent particular social groups?''
For this evaluation question me and my partner Ishpreet Sundal decided to record ourselves conducting an interview. To do this I set up the camera so that it would be facing us and recorded me being the interviewer asking Ishpreet Sundal questions. Once we had done this me and my group member uploaded it onto Final Cut Pro and decided on the bits of footage that we would not need to include and then I uploaded this onto YouTube.

Final Titles

Here is our completed horror opening sequence which we edited on Final Cut Pro and then imported this onto YouTube

Filming Shots

When we was filming at Bentley Priory Ishpreet Sundal  managed to capture and image of me setting up the camera showing us doing productive work.

While Ishpreet was directing Rumena on what shot was going to happen next I managed to capture an image of this and used our iPhones to add an effect called 'Sepia' to help enhance the picture. By using our research and planning of step outline and storyboards, this helped us keep much more organised on the day.

Health and Safety Risk Assessment

For our horror opening I made a risk assessment to make sure that we was all aware of the dangers that we would be facing. This ensured that we was prepared for any upcoming dangers and how we could steer clear of this. I then uploaded this to Slide share to help connote this.

Script

When it came to filming our opening sequence I decided to create a script using 'Celtx' which was very useful while filming as it helped the two characters in our film know hat to say and when they had to say it. It was also very useful as they was able to rehearse there lines so that they was comfortable with what they was saying and so that we could get straight to work when it came to filming. I chose to use 'Celtx' as it made it look more like a script and more professional when it came to filming. By having a set dialogue is also very conventional when it comes to filming as the actors/actresses will be confident with learning their lines.

Shot List

When we was preparing for our filming to take place our teacher informed us that it was essential to create a shot list in order to make sure we was fully prepared for the day and for our opening sequence. For this I created the first half of the shot list while after my group member Ishpreet Sundal took over and completed the final half. By doing this we was incorporating both of our ideas together which connotes good team work and we found that we both had a go at picking the different type of shots we would want to include.
By creating a shot list helped us prepare everything that we would need for the day and also helped us when it came to filming as all of our shots would be in order, it also helped us with the props and equipment we would be using in each shot so that we wouldn't leave anything out.
Once the shot list was completed, my group member Ishpreet Sundal then uploaded this onto SlideShare.

Storyboard

When we was beginning to plan our opening sequence it was essential that we created a storyboard, I took on the role of conducting the storyboard as it was extremely important that we would use this when it comes to filming. When I was filming the opening sequence I would use the storyboard and inform my group member Ishpreet Sundal of the next shot type we would be using and she directed on how we would connote this. Although we may have not stuck to our story board having one reassured us that we took all the footage that we would need and we also managed to gain some extra footage of the location. Once we had finished our story board we then chose to upload this onto SlideShare.

When it came to creating this storyboard I had to refer back to make sure that I included the 180 degree rule as an essential part of this creation. As there was only two characters in our film opening there would be a large use of two shots, so as I was creating our storyboard I had to make sure that I didn't break this rule and considered it when we came to filming.

We was also taught how the use of shot reverse shot helps portray the use of dialogue in films, we will be using dialogue as an important part of our narrative so to do this in a correct manner we will be using two cameras and two tripods so that we can incorporate a clear understanding of shot reverse short into our horror opening. After conducting our preliminary task this gave us practice for when it came to filming our opening sequence as we had been able to productively use the cameras in this way so we knew what we was doing when it came to filming.
